HR1424, Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 is much more than a travesty against the American people, it is a takeover by Government of more than just the mortgage lenders.  The bill is really:

The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, and the Energy Improvement and Extension Act of 2008, and the Tax Extenders and Alternative Minimum Tax Relief Act.  I will summarize a few things and then you can take a look for yourself to see socialism at work.

Div A - Emergency Economic Stabilization.  Makes Paulson more powerful than the President or Congress economically (King Paulson).  Increases Government by establishing new agencies and provides for their funding.  Requires more reports than Carter has Liver Pills and provides for the Government takeover of financial institutions and in essence the potential to take over every financial institution.  Open-endly provides for monies to organizations serving the poor trying to get  mortages.  This is how they kept ACORN in the bill without naming them specifically.

Div B - Energy Improvement and Extension Act.  This section is loaded full of Global Warming carbon credits and covers all forms of energy.  It gives tax credits for co2 sequestration, provides tax treatment for industrial sources of co2, establishes a carbon audit of the tax code.  It is the new United States Kyoto Treaty and probably a rework of the failed energy bill.  

Div C - Tax Extenders and Alt Min Tax Relief.  Here is where the earmarks and add ons are.  Here's a list of some of them:

Money for wool studies
Money for studies on wooden arrows
Money for American Somoa
Tax adjustments for Puerto Ricos rum
Money for investments in NASCAR tracks
Money for employing Indians
Accelerated depreciation for business properties on Indian Reservations
Money for Katrina victims
Extended money for homes in the Katrina area
Money for investing in the District of Columbia
plus:
Permanent Authorization for IRS agents to go covertly into businesses as accountants
